Susan Manion's latest in the world of music

By MICHELLE YANDRE

For the last few summers, we have been keeping up Susan's musical career, and this past year has been one to remember for this country singer/business owner.
Back in October 2010, Manion was privileged enough to sing in Tommy Cash's showcase (brother of Johnny Cash) at the Inspirational Country Music awards. Since then she has been back and forth to Nashville several times.

"One of the times I went down to Nashville, I was on Nashville Broadcasting Radio Network," Manion said. It It was a half hour interview about my music career and my businesses.

Last year Manion's CD fell into the hands of song plugger Charlie Ray, who worked with Michael Jackson and Billy Ray Cyrus. Now her songs " There is Peace" and "All You Wanted" can be heard on roughly 8,000 radio stations across the US and world wide. "I have received emails from different countries, so that is very, very exciting," she said. In the near future, Manion will be working with David Hall and Jim Van Cleve. Hall has worked with artists such as Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift.

In the past year, Manion's proudest moments include being accepted by Hall and being featured on Nashville Broadcasting Radio Newtwork. Now that Manion's songs have found their way into mainstream country, she hopes to eventually make it to the Billboard charts. "I'm happy that the fans like me. They're pushing it more than anything. If they like it, then I'll keep doing it," she said.

Manion enjoys listening to her fans' stories and dreams during her magazine signings. She is featured in both Power Source Magazine and Nashville Music Guide. She is greatful for her fans. "I'm just overwhelmed, and I'm so grateful that people like my music," Manion said. "I love to sing inspirational stuff and try to touch pople and help people."

Along with her music, Manion is an owner of a cleaning company and an investment company.

Manion has been a longtime Chain O' Lakes lover, and she makes time to come to the area a few times each summer. She grew up in Camp Cleghorn and loves spending time near the water.
